Three Career Defining Roles in Health
Last month, I received a most heart-warming text from a candidate.
The text said, “Just wanted to say thank you. I am really enjoying my new life. Wouldn’t be here if you hadn’t made the call, out of the blue” Accepting a new role, in a new location can be a ‘sliding doors moment’, your life as you know it will never be the same. Some approach the opportunity as a new adventure, others see it as a necessary step in their career journey, whilst for some it is a way to achieve a more balanced work/home lifestyle. Whatever the reason, my team and I appreciate such decisions are not taken lightly and we are here to support you in whatever way we can.
Speaking of sliding doors moments…I have some roles for you to consider.
Manager, Corporate, Business and Finance – Norfolk Island Health and Residential Aged Care Services
This is no ordinary role, in no ordinary location. Norfolk Island Health and Residential Aged Care Services (NIHRACS) is seeking an experienced Manager, Corporate, Business and Finance to lead reform in consultation with the Commonwealth Department of Infrastructure, Transport, Regional Development and Communication (DITRRDC) as the health service funder NIRACHS are seeking applications from highly experienced and qualified corporate service leaders capable of leading transformational change. You will form part of an executive team and support the service to deliver safe, quality and patient centred healthcare now and into the future.

As part of the Senior Leadership Team your role is to provide innovative leadership and experienced operational health service management for the Surgical and Ambulatory Services team. You value first and foremost a compassionate, honest, and direct leadership approach where you are visible talking to your teams, working alongside to manage patient care and ensuring the wellbeing of your staff. You are aware of current and future innovations in surgical and acute care and are happy to lead discussions on new ways of working and experience and try things out. You are action and results focussed, empowering teams to use their clinical data to co-design and deliver great patient care. You are aware of Te Tīrītī o Waitangi and are committed to improving equity of access and healthcare outcomes for Māori communities.
Director of Obstetrics and Gynaecology
Logan Hospital is now seeking to appoint an inspirational and resilient leader as its new Director of Obstetrics and Gynaecology. The new Director will co-lead the maternity service with the Nursing and Midwifery Director, Women’s and Children’s Division. The Director will have a demonstrated track record of senior clinical leadership and the ability to lea d and manage change and foster collaborative working relationships in a collegial environment. Logan Hospital is a 436 bed hospital within the Metro South Health Service in Brisbane, Queensland. It is a major teaching hospital for one of the fastest growing regions in the state of Queensland. It provides acute medical, surgical, rehabilitation, maternity, cardiology, orthopaedics, renal and other specialty services for children and adults.
