Oversighting Queensland Health’s $18.455 billion operating budget, the Director-General will deliver the Government’s Advancing Queensland Priorities, building on existing momentum to ensure the people of Queensland can continue to access a world class, quality healthcare system.
Mr Michael Walsh, the current Director-General, has been acknowledged as having played a major part over the last four years in the expansion of frontline services and a massive hospital building program. Prior to his appointment to the Director-General Queensland Health role in July 2015, he held senior roles in government across economic, technological and social portfolios, achieving major organisational change to achieve improved services and outcomes.
