Sam Aberahama
Chief Executive Officer | Whatever It Takes Trust Hawke’s Bay
HG is extremely delighted to announce the appointment of Sam Aberahama to the position of Chief Executive Officer for Whatever It Takes Trust, commencing in the role on 13 January 2025.
Sam has over 17 years of senior leadership experience in the New Zealand Police, specialising in leading and managing diverse teams, operational planning, and building strategic relationships with Iwi, public sector, and community partners.
As Area Commander for the Tairāwhiti Policing Area, Sam has led a considerable number of Police staff across 12 communities and implemented organisational frameworks to improve performance and community trust. Sam also played a critical role in leading responses to crises, including the COVID-19 pandemic and Cyclone Gabrielle.
Sam is of Cook Island-Māori descent and is excited about joining the team at Whatever it Takes, towards achieving their mission of “Walking with whanau to Wellness.” He is also looking forward to returning home to Hawke’s Bay, his place of birth. to be alongside his whanau and friends.

Alice Almeida-Crasto
Service Group Director – Mental Health | Townsville Hospital and Health Services
HG is extremely pleased to announce the appointment of Alice Almeida-Crasto to the position of Service Group Director – Mental Health for Townsville Hospital and Health Services.
Alice brings over 17 years of experience in mental health services and a background inclusive of strategic oversight, operational management, and clinical governance.
She has served as Operational Director at Sunshine Coast Hospital & Health Service, where she led initiatives like the Better Care Together funded models, enhancing resource allocation and service delivery.
Alice holds a Master’s in Advanced Health Service Management and a Master’s in Clinical Psychology from Griffith University, as well as a Postgraduate Certificate in Health Service Planning from the University of Technology Sydney.
