The need for a connected healthcare system is greater than ever – one that’s accessible, progressive and secure. Better use of data and technology is helping people live healthier lives, with greater control and better access to important health information. Northern Health is looking at innovative ways of creating a sustainable future in healthcare, with digital being a key component. Northern Health’s catchment population will almost double by 2030 and already has a social and ethnic diversity which produces significant challenges in healthcare delivery. Northern Health has begun thinking creatively about how to provide high quality care, and ensure that people are supported in their homes wherever possible, to allow for opportunities to create a sustainable health systems using new models of care and the right technology.
Northern Health has recognised the possibilities for health care and technology and believe that for a health service to be sustainable in the future, they need to do things differently. Which is why they have decided to create a new role Executive Director of Digital Health. This position reports directly to the Chief Executive Officer, the ED Digital Health is a pivotal new role responsible for the direction of leadership of operations, financial and programmatic activities for Digital Health at Northern Health. This includes establishing, implementing, and continuously improving on digital health solutions across the organisation. Collaborating with leaders across the organisation to ensure evidence-based planning, programming, reporting and adherence to high quality standards is critical to this role’s success.
