The role of Operations Lead - Ambulatory / Outpatient Services reports directly to the Operations Executive, Acute & Elective Specialist Services Cluster, providing strategic leadership and operational management of the services falling within the direct responsibility of this role, in partnership with the Clinical Programmes Lead and Planning & Integration Lead. This includes having a “whole of system” approach to ensuring the delivery of sustainable services within budget, revenue and activity targets, and supporting the delivery of contemporary multi-disciplinary models of care that are developed through co-design approaches. You will focus on growing and developing front-line clinical leadership, devolving decision-making, and actively supporting leadership capability improvements.
To be considered appropriate for this role, you will have significant leadership experience, the ability to lead a team of skilled and motivated individuals, awareness of equity issues across the sector (including but not limited to Maori Health) and a thorough understanding of the function of the service group and their challenge. You will possess excellent communication skills, including listening, group facilitation, report writing and public speaking skills. You will hold relevant management qualification and/or have a minimum of 5 years’ experience in managing complex health care teams.
This key position offers a unique opportunity to join a contemporary service that serves a population of 162,500, the majority of whom live in Palmerston North City. Approximately 16.5% of the population is aged over 65 years and Maori make up over 17% of the DHB’s population. The DHB stretches across the North Island from the west to the east coast of New Zealand.
