Adult Retrieval Victoria (ARV) is a department of Ambulance Victoria (AV) and provides clinical coordination, retrieval and critical care services. Ambulance Victoria is committed to improving the health of the community by delivering innovative, high quality ambulance services and the services provided by ARV are integral to Ambulance Victoria achieving this vision. ARV uses a mixed model of retrieval crewing, with paramedics, critical care nurses and registrars working together to provide the right level of care for every patient. Their doctors are emergency physicians, anaesthetists, intensivists or trainees from these disciplines, and are always teamed with paramedics.
AV are now seeking a Director, Adult Retrieval Victoria to develop, lead and manage the Adult Retrieval Service to ensure that ARV becomes a fully integrated service. As part of the AV senior leadership team the Director ARV will be responsible for setting and maintaining clinical direction, standards and for developing and implementing sustainable, effective and innovative models of retrieval care. The Director will have a commitment to leading change within a multi-disciplinary service delivery environment.
