Western Australia’s South Metropolitan Health Service is now seeking to appoint a clinical leader with a successful track record of strong operational leadership for the Fiona Stanley Fremantle Hospitals Group’s Department of Perioperative Anaesthesia and Pain Medicine, the largest in Australia.
The new Head of Department Perioperative Anaesthesia and Pain Medicine will foster collaborative working relationships in a collegial environment across both sites by strengthening clinician engagement and gaining the support of all stakeholders. The successful applicant will contribute to clinical governance as well as organisation-wide, effective and timely strategic change within agreed financial targets.
Fiona Stanley Hospital is a public hospital and teaching facility in Murdoch, Western Australia and is the major tertiary hospital in the south metropolitan area of Perth. With 783 beds it offers a range of health services including the State Rehabilitation Service, a comprehensive cancer centre, purpose-built mental health unit, maternity, paediatric and neonatal services, and the State Adult Burns Service. It also delivers specialised services such as heart and lung transplantations, robotic surgery, and hyperbaric medicine.It is immediately adjacent to the private non-profit St John of God Murdoch Hospital.
Fremantle Hospital is a 300-bed specialist hospital focused on providing high-quality aged care, mental health, secondary rehabilitation, planned surgeries and medical services.The streamlined governance structure of the Fiona Stanley Fremantle Hospitals Group ensures greater integration between the Fiona Stanley Hospital and Fremantle Hospital with better access and flow for patients within and across specialty areas.
The successful applicant will be eligible for registration with the Medical Board of Australia and eligible for admission to Fellowship of the Australian and New Zealand College of Anaesthetists (FANZCA) or an equivalent specialist qualification.
