As joint venture between Auckland City Council and The Selwyn Foundation, Haumaru Housing Limited partnerships manages over 1400 units across 62 sites across Auckland - providing housing to over 1500 people.

Haumaru Housing Limited Partnership took over operation of Auckland Council’s Housing for Older People service on 1 July 2017.

The General Manager Operations plays a pivotal role in the senior management team for Haumaru Housing. The role is responsible for the leading their community services, with three direct reports: the Placement Manager, the Community Service Operations Manager and the Tenancy Quality Manager. The role will work closely with all members of the organisation.

The General Manager Operations is accountable for the overall leadership and management of the community service and will be required to build and maintain strong strategic partnerships with external stakeholders, including government departments, social housing providers, other health and social services providers and Mana Whenua. The role reports to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and there is an expectation that the General Manager Operations will support and act as 2IC, this will include attendance at Board Meetings.

The ideal candidate will be an established General Manager or have significant experience in operations in a housing or related sector, be a proactive, grounded and relationship focused individual, committed to providing excellent customer service and be a respected representative for the organisation – role modelling Haumaru Housing values of kindness, respect, responsiveness, and accountability, They must be well versed in operating services within budget and ensuring compliance with the organisational and sector quality standards. The General Manager, Operations position will be based in Auckland, New Zealand.
