SA Health is embarking on an exciting journey to develop and implement and Strategic Industrial Relations Unit and is now seeking a Director Strategic Workforce Relations to develop and drive industrial relations strategy through with and for the whole SA Health system.

The Director will develop and drive IR strategy through partnerships with Local Health Networks and SA Ambulance Service to drive strategic reforms, develop and implement enterprise bargaining strategies, and increase the capability of staff to manage workforce relations matters. The role will enhance the organisation’s ability to deliver effective proactive solutions in accordance with the organisation’s strategic aims and health reform initiatives and will provide significant leadership in the provision of an effective workforce relations service that ensures timely and effective outcomes to workforce matters.

Reporting to the Executive Director Workforce for the Department for Health and Wellbeing and with direct governance over your program of work from the Health Chief Executive Council, you would be responsible for providing cohesive leadership and strategic direction in relation to IR strategy, system wide IR operational matters across SA Health and the Strategic Industrial Relations Unit.

The Director will lead the development of strong partnerships and collaboration with the Local Health Networks, establish effective relationships with Government agencies such as Treasury and Finance and the Crown Solictior’s Office and develop successful liaisons with industrial organisations to ensure the SA Health objectives regarding long term workforce strategy and workforce relations reform are recognised and achieved.

The role will direct the effective implementation of relevant Enterprise Agreements, influence the timely and effective resolution of workforce matters and establish pro-active strategies to strengthen working relationships across SA Health in workforce and people and culture initiatives.

Your proven track record of experience in providing strategic and operational leadership in an Industrial Relations role for a complex organisation in a climate of continuing change, complements your capacity to deliver sustainable results in Industrial and Employee Relations outcomes. Your interpersonal skills enable you to communicate with and influence diverse stakeholders successfully and build organisational commitment to developing a culture of positive reform and a commitment to SA Health being seen as contemporary provider of health services and an employer of choice in the marketplace.
