Mental Health Services, Central Australia Region NT Health is now seeking an experienced Nurse Management Consultant- Community Mental Health to provide high level leadership and management of the Community Mental Health Team (CMHT) and the Crisis Assessment Treatment Team (CATT), to promote a high degree of confidence in service delivery to the local community.

This is a unique opportunity for an experienced mental health nursing leader, with a passion for regional and remote health care provision, to live and work in a wonderful region of Australia. NT Health Central Australia Region cares for all Territorians, and particularly recognises the complex needs of the Aboriginal population over a vast geographical area. Approximately 85% of their inpatient clients are Aboriginal.

The focus of this role is to coordinate the clinical functions and service delivery of both CMHT and the CATT for the Central Australia Region. The Nurse Management Consultant, Mental Health Services, while being responsible for the management of financial and human resources and driving effective risk management and quality improvement across the teams, will also take a lead in implementing contemporary and evidence-based models of care across the service.

Reporting to the General Manager, Mental Health Services, NT Health - Central Australia Region, the Nurse Management Consultant will be part of the Mental Health Service Leadership Team and will be a representative on various MHS Working Groups and the MHS Clinical Governance Committee.

To be a strong candidate for the role you will have:

  • Extensive experience in the delivery of mental health services in a complex environment with a demonstrated and proven record of successful outcomes.
  • Commitment to the health and wellbeing of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Australians
  • Demonstrated high-level leadership and managerial skills, practical people management and the ability to successfully support change in a dynamic multi-disciplinary environment.
  • Experience in leading successful change and implementing contemporary models of service delivery particularly in rural and remote Australia.
  • A passion to live as part of, and contribute to, a vibrant community in a thriving part of Australia.
