Statewide Clinical Support Services (SCSS) incorporates BreastScreen SA, SA Medical Imaging, SA Pathology and SA Pharmacy. SCSS was formed in 2012 and work across every Local Health Network, providing services to all South Australians. Whilst Central Adelaide Local Health Network currently assumes formal responsibility for the administrative, financial, and human resource functions of SCSS, the organisation is working towards a new operating model to provide greater independence to its service. The role of Director of Workforce will play an important role in the transition of,and the shaping of, Workforce services to Statewide Clinical Support Services across a complex health system.

SCSS is now seeking a Director Workforce to drive a culture of excellence in service provision and the development of the workforce and leadership capability to achieve this. SCSS is a complex organisation which employs over 4000 staff and has an annual budget of $860 Million.

Reporting directly to the Group Executive Director you would be responsible for providing cohesive leadership and strategic direction in relation to the Workforce functions for SCSS and for:

  • Building and maintaining high credibility as an executive leader in a workforce arena.
  • Managing internal and external stakeholder expectations and supporting major change that facilitates the SCSS reform agenda at both local and system level.
  • Effectively supporting the Group Executive Director in identifying and resolving barriers impacting the new operating model and guiding the related workforce change.
  • Negotiating and implementing the transfer current staff within Central Adelaide Local Health Network Workforce related services to the SCSS workforce function.

Your proven track record of experience in providing strategic and operational leadership to a complex organisation in a climate of continuing change, complements your capacity to deliver sustainable results in people management and organisation development.Your interpersonal skills enable you to communicate with and influence diverse stakeholders successfully and build organisational commitment to excellence in service provision and attracts and fosters world class talent.
