The Women’s and Children’s Health Network (WCHN) was established to promote, maintain and restore the health of women, children and young people in South Australia. The Service plans, develops and coordinates health services as part of an integrated health system.It is one of the major hospitals in Adelaide and is a teaching hospital of the University of Adelaide, the University of South Australia and Flinders University.
The organisation is now seeking to appoint a Nursing Service Director responsible for strategic and operational leadership, governance and direction for nursing services for the Paediatric Emergency Department. The position works in partnership with the Medical Unit Head, PED and accepts responsibility for the governance and practice standards of nurses; the development and effectiveness of systems of support, to evaluate and consistently improve and nursing practice and healthy work environments, safety and quality and the cost-effective provision of services.
Reporting directly to the Advanced Divisional Nursing Director – Paediatric Medicine the position has line management responsibility for the nursing / midwifery staff and associated ancillary support staff of the WCHN PED.
