The Clinical Director Medical Imaging will lead a dedicated multi-disciplinary team at Tasmania’s largest tertiary hospital (Level 6 facility), which is undergoing a state of the art $657 Million rebuild scheduled for completion in 2020.
The Clinical Director of Medical Imaging is responsible to the Clinical Director - Critical Care, Clinical Support and Investigations for the operational leadership and management of the Department. Playing a key role in planning how the Department of Medical Imaging’s facilities and service development will be shaped in the future, the Director will be responsible for developing, supporting, and supervising teams to provide high quality, professional and patient friendly services whilst achieving business and clinical goals - including providing effective budget management.
Medical Imaging provides approximately 8600 procedures per month and offers all specialist imaging modalities including state-wide services for PET Imaging and Interventional Neuro-radiology. The position requires an experienced and capable clinician with a reputation for engaging and leading multidisciplinary teams.
Medical Imaging has good working relationships with the University of Tasmania and the Menzies Research Institute. There is an opportunity for candidates who have an interest in a joint academic appointment with the University of Tasmania or Menzies Institute.

The position is a 3-year fixed term contract with an opportunity to extend for an additional term of 3 years and it comes with an underlying permanent Staff specialist appointment. The role comes with an opportunity to conduct private practice. The successful candidate must hold Specialist registration with the Medical Board of Australia & Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Radiologists (RANZCR) fellowship.
