The new DCD WCH will be highly motivated to lead a skilled clinical team and to build strong partnerships with midwives, senior clinicians, nurses and allied health professionals. The DCD WCH will play a key role in establishing an effective clinical governance system for the Division and will increase clinical capability through an active commitment to education and research including the training and mentoring of Junior Medical Officers. The DCD WCH has a key relationship with the Divisional Operations Director.
GV Health provides a wide range of acute and primary health care services with a 280-bed hospital at Shepparton and health services in surrounding districts. A major redevelopment of the health service at its Graham Street Campus (main campus) has commenced. Expanded maternity services in partnership with midwives, and enhanced high dependency newborn services are priorities given the significant numbers of high risk pregnancies in this area.
This challenging role provides an opportunity for a senior and experienced leader to create a service at the forefront of health care innovation and excellence for women and children in rural Australia. Medical qualifications recognised in Victoria and by AHPRA and Fellowship of an appropriate Australasian College in Obstetrics and Gynaecology, or other appropriate post-graduate clinical qualifications are an essential requirement.
