Nepean Hospital is now looking for a new General Manager who will be responsible for leading the financial and operational management of resources and services of Nepean Hospital. The role leads the facility to provide a high-quality clinical service and high level of performance to support the LHD in achieving all service level agreement requirements with a highly professional, responsive and accountable customer service culture.

The role will lead the hospital executive team and work closely with the community, other health and community care providers, NBMLHD staff, educational institutions and government agencies to develop and implement services, systems and programs which improve the health and wellbeing of the community.

Nepean Hospital is located at the base of the Blue Mountains in Kingswood, near Penrith. The hospital provides essential services to the community, including neonatal intensive care, surgery, maternity and paediatric, aged care, and rehabilitation services. Nepean Hospital is also a teaching hospital of the University of Sydney for medical students, additionally providing nursing and allied health training for many other universities.

The hospital is currently in stage 2 of a major redevelopment, delivering significant upgrades for the Penrith and Blue Mountains communities. Stage 1 was completed in 2022 following the opening of the Hospital’s new 14-storey tower – one of the tallest hospital buildings in Australia.

The ideal candidate for this role will:

  • Be a significant team player and collaborative and experienced General Manager;
  • Be adept at determining operational priorities, clinical service delivery, and bringing people along with them through a change process; and
  • Demonstrate a track record of enabling and implementing sustainable, transformational change through dynamic and creative leadership
