Centacare, as the social services arm of the Catholic Archdiocese of Brisbane, supports people across South East Queensland from Hervey Bay in the North, to Kingaroy and Gatton in the West and down to the New South Wales border. Centacare has a workforce of more than 3,000, plus volunteers, and operates in more than 200 locations, supporting tens of thousands of people each year. Across aged care, community and pastoral care, disability care, Early EdCare and family and relationship care, Centacare teams walk alongside people on life’s journey, providing the support they need to achieve what is important to them at that moment and into the future. Often Centacare teams come together to provide the holistic support a person needs to thrive.

Centacare’s Directorates include:

  • Aged Care and Disability Services including a range of home care and home safe services, supported independent living services, respite services, transport, and practice governance services
  • Family relationship services, including relationship education, counselling, family dispute resolution, domestic and family violence services, sexual assault services, community development, children’s programs.
  • Catholic Early Ed Care (CEEC) Childcare services, including outside school hours care, early learning centres and kindergartens
  • Pastoral ministries, including seafarer’s mission, hospital chaplaincy, Indigenous ministry, prison chaplaincy and prison ministry.

Client-centred care, facilitated through a range of practice governance measures, is foundational to consistent, high-quality service delivery and continuous improvement in safety, quality and cost effectiveness as well as improvements in client and staff satisfaction.

Centacare is dedicated to providing exceptional services to support families and individuals in our community. Our Specialist Family and Support Services (SFSS) team is committed to delivering high-quality support and fostering positive outcomes for our clients. We are seeking a passionate and experienced General Manager to lead our SFSS team and ensure the continued success of our programs.

The role will demonstrate commitment to the area of Family Relationships, spearheading the development of innovative programs that not only provide immediate support but also create long-term solutions for families affected by domestic violence. This includes designing and implementing comprehensive initiatives across the spectrum of disability, Early Ed Care, education, and health, with one target area being children experiencing behavioural/family challenges. The role also involves working within the framework of NDIS arrangements for Foundational Supports, ensuring that all programs are inclusive and responsive to the diverse needs of the community. The ideal General Manager SFSS will be a leader who champions a values-driven approach that prioritises client-focused care and fosters partnerships, setting a benchmark for excellence in service provision.

  • Have the ability to provide contemporary leadership across Centacare’s highly diverse operations to ensure delivery of quality outcomes whilst building leadership and knowledge for the future.
  • Play a pivotal role in reviewing, developing and implementing the SFSS strategy, objectives and KPI’s that support the Centacare mission and plan.
  • Have extensive experience in change management and transition principles and practices within a not-for-profit environment.
  • Demonstrate experience in the development of innovative programs in the Domestic Violence and family relationship space.
