Wellbeing SA was established in 2020 as the primary mechanism to deliver the State government commitments for a renewed focus and action on prevention. This exciting new Agency, an attached office to the Department for Health and Wellbeing, will lead innovative system change to embed prevention across the life course and disease continuum. Wellbeing SA has a long-term vision to create a balanced health and wellbeing system that supports improved physical, mental and social wellbeing for South Australians.
Wellbeing SA will drive the rebalancing of the health and wellbeing system from treating people when they become unwell to one that also promotes physical, mental and social wellbeing, prevents ill health and supports people to maintain wellbeing and lead healthier lives.
Headed up by Chief Executive Lyn Dean, Wellbeing SA has three directorates: Prevention and Population Health, Integrated Care Systems and Mental Health & Wellbeing. The Health Promotion Branch sits in the Prevention and Population Health directorate, which is led by Dr Katina D’Onise. Lyn and Katina are now looking for a Director Health Promotion Branch – an exciting opportunity to promote wellbeing and provide system leadership in prevention, to improve the health and wellbeing of South Australians.
